

The Office of Safe Environment at the Diocese of Madison is the "umbrella" department which manages all Safe Environment Requirements, Documentation, and Training Sessions. The training includes the VIRTUS® program "Protecting God’s Children® for Adults" for all clerics (bishops, priests, and deacons) incardinated in the Diocese of Madison; all diocesan clerics not incardinated in the Diocese of Madison but serving in any capacity here; all seminarians and deacon candidates affiliated with the Diocese of Madison; and for religious and lay men and women employed by, stably volunteering with, or having any contact with minors in the Diocese of Madison, its parishes, schools, institutions, offices, or programs, and the "Circle of Grace" children's program for those children in our schools and parishes. These programs offer instruction in self-protection and protection of children, young people, and vulnerable adults in the Diocese of Madison.
